You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. The Company is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

4.1 Pricing

Pro plan pricing is as follows:

Billing CyclePrice
MonthlyUSD $4.99 / month
AnnualUSD $39.99 / year

Prices are subject to change with prior notice to users. Any price change will take effect at the start of the next billing period following the date of the change. Prices are quoted in US dollars (USD). Depending on your country of residence, charges may be converted to your local currency. Exchange rates, value-added tax, and other local taxes or fees may apply.

4.2 Automatic Renewal

Pro subscriptions renew automatically. If you do not cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, it will automatically renew for the same duration at the then-current price. To prevent automatic renewal, you must cancel your subscription with sufficient advance notice directly through the subscription management screen in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable.

4.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not directly collect or store your credit card, debit card, or other payment instrument information. Payment processing is handled by Apple or Google, and the payment policies of the applicable store govern each transaction.

4.4 Refund Policy

All refunds for subscription fees are governed by the refund policy of the store through which you made your purchase:

We do not have independent authority to process refunds for store-based purchases. For refund inquiries, please contact the relevant store's customer support.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable to your jurisdiction — including, where applicable, statutory withdrawal rights under applicable consumer protection laws — take precedence over the refund provisions above. Residents of jurisdictions with statutory cancellation rights may request a refund even after a subscription service has commenced, provided the relevant legal requirements are satisfied.

4.5 Service After Cancellation

If you cancel your subscription or your Pro plan expires, your account will automatically revert to the Free plan. In that event:

  • Identity Cards in excess of the Free plan limit (3 cards) will be locked. You may still view them, but editing and new activation may be restricted.
  • Images stored in Supabase Storage will be retained; however, new image uploads will be subject to Free plan restrictions.
  • Previously published Pulse cards will not be automatically set to private, but new publishing functionality will be restricted.

5. User Content

5.1 Ownership

All intellectual property rights in the text, images, and other creative works you create within SUDO EGO in the form of Identity Cards (collectively, "User Content") remain with you. The Company does not claim ownership of your User Content.

5.2 License for Service Operation

By agreeing to these Terms, you grant the Company a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your User Content solely for the following purposes:

  • Providing and operating the Service (including storage, processing, and display).
  • Displaying cards you have set to Public to other users.
  • Enabling the Fork feature (allowing other users to copy your public cards).
  • Improving the Service and performing technical optimization.

This license terminates when you stop using the Service or delete the relevant content. However, separate provisions may apply to copies of your card that have already been Forked by other users (see Section 6).

5.3 Consent Upon Publishing Cards

When you set an Identity Card to Public, you consent to the following:

  • Other users may view your card.
  • Other users may Fork (copy) your card.
  • Your card may appear in the Pulse feed alongside your display name.

If you set a public card back to private, new views and Forks will cease; however, copies already Forked by other users will remain independently in those users' accounts.

5.4 Prohibited Content

You may not create or share User Content that includes:

  • Hate speech, discrimination, or incitement to violence against any individual or group based on race, gender, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or similar characteristics.
  • Content that infringes the intellectual property rights (including copyright and trademark) of any third party.
  • Personally identifiable information about others, or content that invades another person's privacy.
  • Sexually explicit material.
  • Content that promotes or depicts illegal activity.
  • False, misleading, or fraudulent content.
  • Spam or content that disrupts the Service.

5.5 Content Monitoring and Enforcement

The Company has no obligation to proactively review or monitor User Content. However, if content that violates these Terms is reported or discovered, the Company may, without prior notice, take any of the following actions:

  • Set the content to private or delete it.
  • Temporarily restrict the associated account.
  • For repeated or serious violations, permanently suspend the account.

To appeal a content action, please contact contact@sudoego.app.

6. Pulse (Social Features)

6.1 Pulse Overview

Pulse is a community feed feature that allows users to explore publicly shared Identity Cards, express reactions, and Fork (copy) them. Some Pulse features are available only to Pro plan subscribers.

6.2 Legal Nature of Fork

Forking copies another user's public Identity Card into your own account. The following disclosures apply to Fork:

  • A Forked card is displayed with attribution to the original creator.
  • The user who Forks a card may modify it to suit their own purposes.
  • Intellectual property rights in a modified Fork may vary depending on the degree of creative contribution; the obligation to display the original creator's attribution nonetheless persists.
  • Fork is predicated on the original creator's consent to public sharing. By setting a card to Public, you are deemed to have authorized Forking of that card.

6.3 Community Guidelines

All users of Pulse must comply with the following community guidelines:

  • Treat others with respect and contribute to a positive self-development culture.
  • The prohibited content listed in Section 5.4 applies equally to Pulse.
  • Spam reactions, abnormal bulk Forking, and other conduct that abuses the Service are prohibited.
  • Forking another user's card for the purpose of defaming the original creator or distorting the original intent of the content is prohibited.

6.4 Reactions

Reactions on Pulse (such as likes) are expressions of support or encouragement for the user who published the card. Reactions may be withdrawn, and reaction counts may be displayed on public cards.

7. App Lock Feature

7.1 Feature Description

The App Lock feature is a self-imposed control tool that you voluntarily configure. Apps you designate will have access restricted until your Ritual is completed.

  • iOS: App access is restricted using Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls).
  • Android: A lock screen is displayed when a designated app is launched, using the PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS permission and overlay functionality.

7.2 Voluntary Setup Disclosure

The App Lock feature is set up and managed entirely by you. At any time, you may modify the list of locked apps, the lock schedule, or the Ritual timing, or you may disable the App Lock feature entirely, through the App's settings menu.

7.3 Emergency Release Methods

IMPORTANT NOTICE — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

If App Lock is active and an emergency arises, you may release the lock by any of the following methods:

  1. Disable App Lock through the SUDO EGO settings menu.
  2. iOS: Go to Settings → Screen Time → [App Name] and remove the restriction directly.
  3. Android: Go to Settings → Accessibility → Disable SUDO EGO-related settings, or force-close the App.
  4. Restart your device.

Important: We do not guarantee that the above release methods will work immediately in every situation. Emergency calls (such as your local emergency services, e.g., 911, 112) can always be made directly from your device regardless of the App Lock status. However, the App Lock feature may delay or restrict access to non-emergency communication apps, medical apps, navigation apps, and other applications. You are solely responsible for ensuring that apps required in an emergency are not included in your App Lock list.

7.4 Disclaimer for App Lock Feature

THE COMPANY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE APP LOCK FEATURE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

  • Restricted Emergency Access: Any inconvenience, harm, or damage resulting from inability to immediately access emergency calls, messages, medical apps, navigation apps, or any other app due to App Lock being active. You bear sole responsibility for deciding which apps to exclude from your App Lock list with emergency scenarios in mind.
  • Technical Failures: Cases in which App Lock does not function as intended or fails to disengage due to OS updates, device compatibility issues, or other unforeseen technical errors.
  • Lost Opportunities: Lost business, academic, or social opportunities resulting from an active Ritual session or App Lock.
  • Third-Party Circumvention: Cases in which a locked app bypasses the lock through means outside the Company's control.
  • Unlock Delay: Cases in which the lock is not immediately released after Ritual completion due to technical reasons.

7.5 Not a Medical or Therapeutic Service

SUDO EGO is not a medical service, mental health treatment, psychotherapy, psychological counseling, or any similar professional service. The App Lock feature and all other features of the Service are not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent, or mitigate any medical or psychological condition. If you are experiencing addiction, impulse control difficulties, or mental health challenges, please seek help from a qualified professional.

7.6 Consent to System Permissions

To use the App Lock feature, you must grant the following system permissions:

  • iOS: Screen Time (FamilyControls) access.
  • Android: Usage access permission (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS), display over other apps permission (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW), Accessibility Service (AccessibilityService), and Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE).

These permissions are used solely for the purpose of operating the App Lock feature. You are not required to grant these permissions if you choose not to use App Lock.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Company Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the SUDO EGO name, logo, brand identity, UI design, source code, algorithms, database structure, onboarding flow, CLI design system, and all other creative works belong to Sudo Ego, Inc. This includes copyrights, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets.

These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not permit you to:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or rent the Service or any portion of it.
  • Decompile, reverse-engineer, or disassemble the source code.
  • Create derivative works based on the Service.
  • Remove or obscure any intellectual property notices of the Company.

8.2 Distinction from User Content

As stated in Section 5, intellectual property rights in Identity Card content you create remain with you. The Company's intellectual property extends only to the platform, features, and design of the App.

8.3 Copyright Infringement Reports

If you discover content within the Service that infringes your copyright or another party's copyright, please report it to contact@sudoego.app. Your report should include a description of the alleged infringement, information identifying the original work, the location of the infringing content within the Service, and your contact information.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and the Company with respect to your use of the Service and supersede all prior negotiations, representations, promises, understandings, and agreements.
